IN THE HEART OF THE UNDERGROUND PASSAGES

MORNING

Hooks for hanging hammocks, which take up less space than beds. A century-old bread oven that still gives off a delicious aroma. The Festen de Guentrange and its dedicated volunteers lead you into the heart of this concrete bunker well hidden among the vegetation in the upper reaches of Thionville. With your taste buds on the alert and your nose on the starting blocks, it’s time for a local lunch which only our skilled restaurateurs can provide! Hush!

AFTERNOON

No time for a nap! We head off for the second visit of the day. Two possibilities, the Hackenberg Ouvrage or Michelsberg Fort await you. A journey back in time. The Maginot Line had to secure the French borders in the event of an enemy attack! You won’t feel the same after you leave and the military history of the Pays Thionvillois will hold no more secrets for you!

Worth knowing

Inside the forts the temperature is always 12 degrees, even in the height of summer. We recommend you take some warm clothes with you so that you can enjoy the experience without shivering.
