    DAY 1

    MORNING

    A jewel among Lorraine’s seigneurial estates, La Grange Castle in Manom welcomes you and invites you to take a seat at its table. After a guided tour of the castle, the garden, designed by Franck Neau, presents its 100 well laid out boxwoods, lilies and meadow flowers. And what if we tell you that one of the family’s children was painted by Marie-Antoinette’s portrait artist? Time to head to the restaurant for lunch.

    AFTERNOON

    To help you digest, time for a walk. Thanks to one of Thionville’s surprising guided tours, discover the city’s key events and monuments as well as its little anecdotes and secrets. Return to the table for dinner before settling comfortably down in your 3-star hotel.

    DAY 2

    MORNING

    In the heart of the valleys of the Nord-Mosellan region, the memories of the past are still very much alive! Travel into the very heart of the history of the mines and its miners with a visit to the Ecomuseum of Iron Mines in Neufchef. From manual to mechanised extraction, it will offer you the chance to learn more about all the various techniques. After learning more about ore, it’s time for lunch. As they say, “it takes sweat, determination and hard work!”

    AFTERNOON

    Experience the history of the Buding Mill and the families of La Canner. Initially an oil mill, it has repeatedly foiled the competition and adapted to the inhabitants’ everyday needs. Now a museum, it invites you to take part in a demonstration in which you will be doing the work!
