BELFRY

in Thionville
  • Symbol of the municipal liberties acquired through the franchise charter of 1239, the Belfry was built in the 14th century and modified in the 16th. It is 45 meters high and is the tallest monument in the city. It is an exception in the east of France, as belfries are more common in northern France and Belgium
