Hermitage and chapel known as "du Lépreux" or "du Mont-Saint-Michel" (Beuvange-sous-Saint-Michel): small chapel and hermitage built around 1250 atop the Mont Saint-Michel hill, north of Beuvange-sous-Saint-Michel. The complex was intended to house the knight Guerlach de Neuersbourg, who had contracted leprosy during the 7th Crusade. On his death some ten years later, his fiancée Irmengarde (daughter of Volkrange lord Arnoux II) established four annual masses in his honor (still attested to in the 17th century). In 1455, the chapel was restored in Gothic style. At the same time, a brotherhood was formed in Beuvange-sous-Saint-Michel to ensure its upkeep. In 1655, the chapel was again restored and enlarged by Elisabeth de Nassau. In the 18th century, the hermitage was still occupied, and masses were held in the chapel until 1803. The building was then abandoned. Today, only a few vestiges remain.
