BICHEL-SUD SHELTER

in Kœnigsmacker
  • At the centre of the Koenigsmacker Forest, Bichel-Sud Fort is an interval shelter along the Mafinot Line contructed to house around forty men from the 167th infantry regiment responsible for "border patrolling" in 1939/1940.
This fort still houses a large amount of equipment in working order, such as the cooker, the generator dating back to 1936, and the ventilation system.
During a guided tour, you can experience the living conditions of men in this concrete lair.
