Cycling from Basse-Ham to Knutange

This itinerary crosses the Thionville conurbation from the Voie Bleue. After a visit to the city center, the tour heads off towards the Saint-Michel coast to discover the unspoilt villages of the Moselle coast, now part of Thionville. Numerous links lead away from this backbone to discover more unusual places. 35 km 2h30 / Easy

Canner cycle route

The Canner route follows the river of the same name from Kédange-sur-Canner to Kœnigsmacker. You’ll discover a verdant valley leading to the Voie Bleue and the banks of the Moselle.

Hackenberg cycling tour

30 km of small departmental or communal roads are on the program for this tour, which offers many interesting sights. Among them, the Buding mill on the banks of the River Canner, with its restored, state-of-the-art mechanisms, is a must-see. A few kilometers away, the Hackenberg site is well worth a visit. Here, the Maginot Line fortification houses the original installations in perfect working order (artillery turrets, casemate cannons), as well as a museum of the 39-45 war. You can take the little train inside the fort. For the more adept, the tour continues on pleasant back roads offering beautiful panoramic views. Cycling from Illange to Hettange-Grande

This cycle route crosses the Portes de France Thionville conurbation from north to south. It’s an opportunity to explore the town and surrounding area at the pace of cycling. Secondary routes branch off from this backbone for even more discoveries. A network combining greenways and cycle paths around Thionville and along the Moselle. 8 .7 km 45 min / Very easy

Chemin de la Moselle from Thionville to Apach

The Chemin de la Moselle is one of Moselle’s most prestigious fully-secured cycling facilities. It links Thionville to Apach (and beyond), following the banks of the Moselle for a 57 km round trip. The landscapes alternate between open spaces, wooded hillsides, vineyards and medieval towns. A family-friendly alternative is to leave Thionville at the Koenigsmacker lock on the right bank and return to Thionville on the left bank for a 22 km round trip.

Malbrouck mountain bike trail

Departing from Malbrouck castle or the Chapelle de la Paix, this tour offers the best views of the castle. Whether at the bottom of the valley or on the heights, you’ll enjoy the comfortable paths of this beautiful circuit. There are many sights to discover: the Husprung spring, the Chapelle de la Paix, the Hammelsberg lawns and, of course, Malbrouck castle. 14 km 1h / Difficult
