  • In the week leading up to All Saints' Day, and in the run-up to Halloween, strange things are happening at Hackenberg.
    Visitors believe they've seen a ghost that haunts the galleries, ammunition depots, kitchens and barracks, and disrupts guided tours noisily, even firing cannons into the fighting blocks.
    Some say it's the ghost of soldier Hippolyte, who was an electromechanic at Hackenberg in 1939, and who comes back every year at this time, very upset, to see what's going on in his work,...
