EXPOSITION VÉGÉTAL

in Thionville

The Végétal exhibition is an invitation to observe. A suspended moment to linger over a resilient Nature. Long before our contemporaries, Art Nouveau reintroduced vegetation to the heart of artistic creation. Émile Gallé, the pioneering botanist of this movement, made a major contribution to its development by faithfully reproducing common flora in his works.

Plants colonize old walls, sometimes finding their way into cracks in the asphalt, and are found here and there in our towns and countryside. Dandelions, thistles, cornflowers, ranunculus and other weeds rub shoulders with the harmonious yet wild bouquets fashioned by the artist's hand.

Oscillating between the real and the imaginary, ten artists recompose a Nature that deserves a fresh look.
